IBTX Risk Services Promotes Michael Bell to Director of Property & Casualty Operations
Dallas, TX, February 11, 2016 – IBTX Risk Services, an independent insurance agency that delivers strategic tools to help clients minimize risk, today announced the promotion of Michael Bell to director of property and casualty operations. In the role, Bell will oversee large commercial, small commercial and personal lines of business.
Bell originally joined IBTX as director of personal insurance solutions to help the company expand their personal insurance services.
“Michael has been a tremendous asset in growing our service offerings since he first joined the company, and his commitment to the company has been pivotal in our recent success,” said Stephen Smith, president and partner of IBTX. “His experience and knowledge of the industry has been evident as he constantly strives to ensure IBTX remains indispensable in protecting the assets of our clients.”
With nearly 25 years of experience in the retail insurance agency system, Bell has served in roles in client development and insurance operations, as well as serving as an executive officer, principal and agency owner.
Prior to joining IBTX, Bell co-founded AbleCo Insurance Agency, LLC, which he grew from a scratch property and casualty insurance agency to a firm focused primarily on personal lines insurance. Bell and his co-founder sold the property and casualty division of AbleCo in March 2015. Bell also previously worked at Bell Insurance Group, where he served as executive vice president.
Bell is a member of the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas, as well as the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors and the Society of Certified Risk Managers through The National Alliance for Insurance and Education. He has also served as president and treasurer of the Irving Sunrise Rotary Club.
Licensed by the Texas Department of Insurance as a risk manager and as a general and surplus lines insurance agent, Bell graduated from Centenary College of Louisiana with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a minor in business.
